Choosing a composite door

Six useful decisions.
In the right order.

You do not need to become a door expert. A clear starting point makes the conversation with your installer easier.

01

Style

Look at the shape, panel detail and overall character before narrowing the technical choices.

02

Colour

Consider the brick, render, windows and interior as well as the door in isolation.

03

Glazing

Balance natural light, privacy and the visual detail you want.

04

Hardware

Handles, knockers, letterplates and finish bring the final combination together.

05

The doorset

Frame, threshold and other components matter to the completed entrance—not only the door slab.

06

Survey & quote

A trade professional confirms sizes, suitability, specification, price and installation details.

Light and privacy

Think about the view from both sides.

Glazing can brighten a hallway or kitchen without giving up control of privacy. Options such as integral blinds can make that balance practical day to day.

Your installer will confirm which glazing and blind options are available with your chosen door and specification.

Keep it simple

Bring three things to your installer.

  1. A photograph of your existing entrance
  2. A few door images or colours you like
  3. What matters most: appearance, light, privacy or practical access

Product and performance

Confirm facts at specification.

Security, thermal performance, thresholds, hardware and compatibility depend on the confirmed doorset. Your installer will use the approved information for the exact product and configuration being quoted.
